LeBaron preorder 1320 rounds of Russian 7.62x39 Surplus $192

Interesting. Cardboard boxes in an orange crate! Doesn't sound like the way the soviets would have socked ammo away for long term storage but whatever........ maybe big brother was involved in making it "safer". Good thing I have some empty Czech crates and lots of stripper clips! :D

I've been keeping all my stripper clips just in case... I called them, they say they can't take CC over the phone:mad:. Going to call back as they are asking if I can do that and put some aside since you guys are taking it all!!

I just got off the phone with Mississauga store to make sure mine would be there so I didn't drive down for nothing. She said no problem, still have lots! Hope it's still the same story at 4 PM.

It's a shame it's not in the spam cans which would make looooong term storage a no brainer! Oh well, just have to use it up or go with ammo cans :D

just picked up my 3 prepaid crates at the markham store. I think the markham store only got enough to fill their prepaid orders. when i was picking up i only saw 6 more crates on behind the desk.

here is the crate:
7.62%20crates%20sm.jpg

havent opened it yet

about 15-20 crates are left out front in the store, likely have more in the back

which store is this? Mississauga or Markham?

Thanks for the pics. Do you mind if I post the one of the crate markings on another site to try and get the info deciphered?

Very nice. I wonder what the reason behind the copper washed case is

Shoot a metric sh*t-ton of lacquer coated ammo in a rifle that's been fired to nearly red hot, and let me know how the chamber looks. ;) Some guys in the USA had serious problems with Wolf lacquered cases in their AKs a number of years ago for just that reason.

The copper simply doesn't clog up the chamber like lacquer can if it melts or softens, right at the worst time... Not an issue at all for 99.9% of civilian shooters, but definitely something to think about in a military "fight to the last man" context. Slightly looser chambers have been built into a lot of ComBloc weapons to resist this problem as well, so I hear.

Wow that stuff was made in 1958, the height of the Cold war and imported by Century International arms out of Montreal. I ordered alot of stuff from them.
