VZ58: Optics, sights & mounts. update sept

And you can actually see through it mounted that far forward?

When are you going to install the rail for your side mount?

No i cant see anything that far out... but it would be ok with a long eye relif scope.. :)
Picking up the side rail from KASAT on Tuesday....

I'll post more pics when everything is done... :)

I'll be picking up an SKS sight tool to adjust my front sight elevation after having the Rauch rear peep installed. I understand the front sight is just a 'screw', should it turn easily? I've never adjusted it. After adjusting it how would I 'lock' in place? Do I need to apply something to it?

Thanks!

It should turn fairly easily. You may want to use some Loc-tite if you're concerned it will move.

Thanks Stevo! So loctite isn't really necessary then? I guess if I apply loctite then it would be harder to adjust later again?

Whether it's necessary will depend on your rifle and how tight it is. If you do use Loc-tite, don't use the permanent strength.

I just finished mounting my new POSP 4x24 from Interammo. Here's some pics.

I will try to zero the scope soon as possible, also i will put something to preserve the finish from the empty cases. Of course the mount is a bit hight but after fews minutes, we get used to very well. The rear rubber eye piece(not pictured) is no use if you wear glasses like me. The rail seem's very very solid. In all, a very well designed piece of equipement. However, will be good to have the english manual soon.:)

Hey svt1940, How's the eye relief with the AK scope mount? It looks as though it sits a little further back. Just curious thanks.

We need a range report SVT! How do you like the setup?
Do ejecting shell casings cause any problems?

I will try to take the cz to the range next weekend to zero the scope. The typical cz eject case to 1 o'clock position so i dont think the cases will hit the scope but i must do serious testing. Range report coming soon and a youtube video too:D

I just got a Vortex Strikeforce red dot for my CZ858 and mounted it on a NEA 3rd gen rail. With the low mounted one it will co-witness the iron sights. It worked out pretty well. The magnification doubler does not fit though and is blocked by the rear sight.

New side rail from Interammo (see-thru serial number)

After serious deliberation I have finally decided to scope my CZ858.
Rail: http://interammo.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=27&products_id=67
Scope: POSP 4x24M

I might post a detailed write-up but for now just a few pics.

Installation was VERY EASY! No threading involved and the rail itself makes it virtually impossible to install it in a wrong place.

You still need to watch for the alignment with the barrel and preferred elevation adjustment range. I've installed mine to have 300m chevron centered, not 100m. That way I'm OK to at least 600m with 4x24M POSP.

Range report to follow.

OK, here we go...
