You buying the new SKS-15?

I cant wait for SKS's to go up and price. Maybee then the mall ninja crowd can finally move on to hack up a different platform.

Nobody hacks a $200 sks, an $850 one, that's a different matter. If you can't see the difference, then it's not worth explaining it.

Mall ninja's will be buying the sks-15 by the crate!

I appreciate the quest for innovation but .... (and I've said it countless times)

SKS is an awesome deal .... if you essentially leaving it alone.

Soon as you start pouring big money into it, it becomes a money pit with very little actual increase in benefit.

I'd like to say "each to their own" but not seeming any increase in accuracy and minimal increase in handling with all these nods.

I appreciate what they were trying to do with this rifle. However, upon watching the disassembly video...holy crap. A bunch of different sized allen keys needed etc?

Look at the AR15 or the Mini 14- they field strip in seconds with no tools. That's the gold standard.

Cleaning it shouldn't be an ordeal.

When cosmetics ignore fundamentals I have to wonder where we are going????

Kinda like society today ..............

That's what I was afraid of. Looks cool and but it is just a dressed up $200 rifle and one that went from being very easy to maintain to one that is now very difficult to clean.

No, but I don't drive a lowered import car either. Lots of self righteous arrogant posters here though. The people that buy fun "trinket" guns are the ones growing our voting base. Treat them like crap, cry when your narrow view "good" firearms are banned. Black and red gun snobs are no better than skeet/trap snobs or the IPSC "warriors".

Quoted for truth. This deserves a mic drop and exit stage left. .

It is amazing how some of the people here yell and scream that everyone must tolerate and accept their hobby. And then with the very next breath, berate and call down people that enjoy the same hobby just with different guns. WTF is wrong with you? How about you accept the people and their toys that help make our hobby more mainstream?

Or, love the hobby so much and be willing to call out those who bastardize it in the eyes of both the insiders and outsiders.

I love grilling meat too, and you better believe I'll give you a dose of what for if I see you pouring BBQ sauce on a NY Striploin...

Who's right? Who cares!

I have permission to forever claim whatever I want.

Just like you do, Bubba...

Hey, buy any gun that you want. Doesn't mean I'll pay 4x more for the same firearm. You feel free, however. Buy a crate of them and a Wendy's Baconator or three while you are at it. Make a mountain of a molehill while you still can!

The thread is "Are YOU buying the new SKS-15?". Ask 10 people what kind of music they like and you'll have 10 different answers. Just because 90% of the posters think this is a waste of money at that price point, doesn't mean the 10% left can't buy whatever they want... we know you'll buy one and bubba it up even further :runaway:

If I take a SVT 40, and bubba it to look like a SVD, people have offered me 4x more for the same firearm lol.

Oddly enough, the Cabelas here has (or had) an SVT 40 someone bastardized with an SVD style scope. Didn't get to take the best look at it, but I'm most certain it was drilled and tapped for the mount. They're asking near $2k for it if I remember correctly.

Thats pretty overpriced if attaching an SVD scope is all he did haha, wonder If it sold ??
